Bio

BORN Masset, Haida Gwaii:
June 25, 1980

In 2003 John graduated from Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Vancouver, BC. For his final project, he carved a 12 ft. totem pole. John enrolled at Concordia University (Montreal, QC) in 2004 and went on to obtain his masters degree in Fine Arts, specializing in Printmaking. In 2010 John was featured in ‘A Tale of Two Artists’ exhibition which was held at Vancouver’s Bill Reid Gallery. Additionally, John has collaborated on a number of projects with his mother, Joyce Bennett, a well known Northwest Coast clothing designer. She utilizes motifs drawn by John for her applique textiles. John is the nephew of acclaimed Haida artist, Robert Davidson.
