The Spirit Bear is a sacred being to the Haida, and to see one is considered good luck. Here, Don Yeomans' colour choices surprise again: the crisp white face, sharp black brows, and bold red ears and mouth give the mask a rare lightness that is fitting, for a creature seen so rarely itself.
